And that a further third shipment will arrive in Melbourne before
Christmas to cater for the demand. But judging by the way these new
balls are selling we urge you to get in quick with your orders
before we again "sell out".

whole range please click

Zealand as well. The championships will be held at the Victorian
State Volleyball Centre in Stud Road, Dandenong. For more
information go to the
Volleyball Victoria website.

Mikasa Volleyball Nets are of to the highest of
standards (as pictured being used in the 2007 world league) and come
complete with an attachable side line marking tape and are also the
proper drop as well of one metre. But there is a common
misconception that the antenna should be placed on this tape, and it
is wrong ! Please note this picture (taken from the FiVB website)
which clearly shows that the antenna is on the outside of the tape.
28.04.2008
The new MT6 Mikasa Volleyball Kneepads are now
available, they of the highest quality material and have a long
elastic bandage as well, with plenty of protection at the sides as
well. They come in four colours ..... White, Blue, Black and Yellow.
Click
here to see them.
19.03.2008
Yesterday it was said on a leading website that
Mikasa was not used in the 1972 Munich Olympic Games. Our managing
director happens to have in his personal collection a ball which
refutes this claim. Mikasa is the choice of the Olympics.
13.03.2008
It is now official .... Mikasa is now the "Official Game Ball of the
Australian Volleyball Federation" starting right now in 2008. In
this year, an Olympic year Australian volleyball will benefit
greatly from this change to Mikasa.
2.03.2008
The trophy volleyballs that were listed under the
"FiVB Approved Balls" are now to be found on the "Extra Volleyball
Items" page.
9.02.2008
Coming soon a new product for Mikasa Sports Australia which will
start a revolution in Australian volleyball .... the "VBR". The VBR
is a tool used for blocking spikes during training sessions, this is

As from the start of March, Mikasa will be the
"Official" Game Ball for Canoe polo in Australia we at Mikasa Sports
Australia look forward to helping canoe polo grow and flourish in
Australia.
5.02.2008
Mikasa Sports Australia as from today will no longer be supplying
"Full Grain Leather Volleyballs", mainly due to the fact that the
International governing body the FiVB have not approved any Leather
Volleyballs since 2005, both for quality and environmental reasons
as well.
29.11.2007
Suffice to say that there has been a lot of changes lately, with
some items being discontinued and other ones ready to come online
for 2008. The changes are in response to the coming of the Beijing
Games and we
are trying to change with the times, and of course there are "new
things" not even mentioned about yet that will come in 2008, so stay
tuned, we will keep you posted.
21.11.2007
There will two ( 2 ) new Indoor Volleyballs added to
our range next year, the MV250 and the MV211S. The MV211S will be a
revolutionary ball as it only has "12 panels" instead of the usual
18, and only Mikasa has them. On a sad note the MVL2001 has been
replaced by the MVP2001.
12.11.2007
Well it seems that our information about the "other
volleyball retailer" (8.09.2007) has worked to a limited degree, as
only some Mikasa goods (most notably the MGV500 White Setter
Volleyball) have been removed from his website, but only some.
7.11.2007
Despite a rumour to the contrary the Mikasa VLS200 is
still the official ball of the FiVB and will continue to be until
at least the 2012 London Olympic Games.
8.09.2007
Much has been said lately of having stock of
volleyballs on hand like Elson Volley does, for instance a certain
"other volleyball retailer" who has Mikasa Volleyballs on their
website but doesn't have as much Mikasa Volleyball Gear as their
website as they would have you believe. Mikasa Sports Australia no longer
stocks the "White" MGV500 Setter Heavy weight ball, so how
come they (the other retailer) have it on their website ?? They
don't have any stock..... and we have not supplied them for around 2
years. The funny thing is (not really funny) that this is not an
isolated case for this "other" retailer. We would like to
remind all retailers of Mikasa Sports Goods, whether new or old,
that this is called "False Advertising" and customers can sue you
for it !
29.08.2007
Due to circumstances beyond our control the
W5500 / 09 series of water polo balls (except for W5509PNK which
will be in short supply) will not
be available until further notice. We regret any inconvenience this
may cause.

What is the official drop of a volleyball net ?
This question has been asked of us quite a lot lately, the answer is
1 metre (from the top of the net, to the bottom of the net). Now the
reason why this question is being asked.... In the USA they still go
by "feet and inches" and everywhere else is "metric".
So when volleyball nets are made for the USA market they are a "3
foot" drop and everywhere else has 1 metre. But in Australia
unfortunately both types are imported, and people (including
referees) have taken it for granted that they are metric and
sometimes they are not, the easiest way to tell the difference that
we have seen is that if you are using "Asics" antenna then the drop
is 3 FOOT. If you use "Senoh" then the net is 1 metre. What
difference does it make ? 3 and 3/4 inches
more onto the bottom of the net, enough for a volleyball to hit and
stay in play !! Another way is when the bottom of a 1 metre net has
to be "lifted up" to fit a shorter antenna, which will cause the
bottom of the net to curve upwards slightly (not to mention the
extreme stress on the antenna and could cause it to brake
prematurely), and this situation does not give good game play off
the net either. Mikasa Sports Australia has the Senoh Net Antenna
(FiVB Approved and Olympic Provider) and the Mikasa VNC which is an
International Net and is 1 metre in drop and has a side marking
tapes included. Forget the rest and get the best Mikasa and Senoh
otherwise you may be wasting your money.
Available from Elson Volley.
3.08.2007
It has come to our attention that some internet
websites are advertising that they have Mikasa / Senoh products on their
websites, whereas they don't actually have any stock. Buyers should
be wary of these sites, if you are uncertain please check with us, and
we will tell you if we "actually" supply these places or not. Please
note that we feel that these sites are trying to lure people into
them and then try to sell them a different brand/item.

After the world cup of cricket, the victorious
Australian Team relaxed by playing some Beach Volleyball, and what
brand of Beach Volleyball did they use ..... what else but the one
used on the Swatch FiVB World Tour.... Mikasa of course.

7.04.2007
During the labour Day long weekend in Melbourne
(Moomba) in March, Epic Beach Volleyball staged a King/Queen of the
Beach Competition, and Mikasa was there as the sponsored ball of the
event, and will also be there at Cobram tomorrow.

Pictured at the Fina World Championships
recently was the Premier of Victoria Mr. Steve Bracks and our own Mr.
Neil Cocks managing director of Mikasa Sports Australia, in between
Water Polo matches.
16.2.2007
In an effort to de-mystify to you the volleyball
player about what the
FiVB markings
on a volleyball actually mean, we done up a special page on our site
for you entitled "FiVB
Ball Approval System", also included is a segment on "Leather
versus Synthetic".
14.10.2005 Mikasa Sports Australia and Australian
Volleyball Warehouse have ceased their relationship as of today, hence
the removal of our link to their site.
