When will it stop? All the new products that are
coming through, well to be truthful we love it ! Added today is the
KBVA3 Beach Volleyball Key Ring, yes we had not forgotten about the
Beach Players when we got in the "Indoor" key ring, what will we
bring into Australia next, well we already know and it is something
that is for Players, Coaches AND Referees. It is something that will
arguably make the sport of Volleyball in Australia look and feel
more professional, our Managing Director Mr. Neil Cocks has wanted
it for Australia for the last ten years and very soon we Mikasa
Sports Australia will introduce it into Australia.
28.05.2010
Well that didn't last long ....today we added two
more volleyballs to our "New Products" Page, we just can't help
ourselves in providing to the Australian Market the best gear
available on the world scene today, listed today were the "VIP300"
and the "MVA300ATTR" Volleyballs.
20.05.2010
Well our "New Products" Page is literally bursting at the seams, so
for now we are taking a brake. But don't worry we here at Mikasa
Sports Australia have not finished yet, so look out for more in
around Winter time.
7.5.2010
All the new products coming in soon make us here at
Mikasa Sports Australia feel really proud, as some suppliers would
only have these new products as their current range, whereas here we
are "adding to" our current range. And it is all thanks to you
...our customers.
21.4.2010
People often ask us if Mikasa Volleyball Nets are
used at international events, well here is a picture fresh off the
FiVB website showing Argentina v Brazil Youth Boys playing a
qualification match for the 2011 FiVB Boys' Youth World
Championships. Notice the yellow and Blue Mikasa sign next to the
FiVB logo on the top of the net.
12.4.2010
Every so often we here at Mikasa Sports Australia
receive what we are told are faulty goods. And are shocked by what
we find, instead of faulty goods we find balls that have had their
valves "pushed" in. Please note that this is not a manufacturing
fault at all, in actual fact this caused by "pushing the needle too
hard into the ball" and or / as well as "the needle not being
properly lubricated". We hope that giving you, the customer, the
following link for
ball
maintenance that this will cease to occur. This page can also be
accessed by clicking on the MVA200 picture, at the bottom of the
"MVA200 details" page you will find a link to "Ball Maintenance.

Here is some information for you prospective
volleyball buyers, don't just take price and looks as the only
things to consider when buying a ball. There is another ..... "Nylon
Wound" Volleyballs are for international competition use (Men's and
Women's) and cotton wrapped are specifically for Women's / Juniors
use. Now this is where it gets a bit frightening..... in Australia
the main amount of Indoor Players are MEN, but in the U.S.A. it is
women ! So most of the balls made for the U.S.A. market are made for
women and NOT men. Sometimes these American balls end up in
Australia..... so make sure what type it is before you buy, as a
ball made for women will not stand up to use by MEN here in
Australia and will therefore not last as long as usual. If you
require help please don't hesitate to contact us for more
information
24.2.2010

Today we have made a major change to our website, in
that we now are showing on ONE PAGE all our new items that are
coming to our site. We hope that this makes it easier for you to
review our new products.
18.12.2009
Coming in 2010 is a revolutionary new Basketball from
Mikasa that has 12 panels of equal distance from each.... therefore
increasing the grip of the ball. But it doesn't stop there is also a
"dimpled surface" basketball which greatly improves the grip yet
again. If you want the best basketball available you have to have
the Mikasa BZD712 Basketball.
6.10.2009
As seen on Devovolleyball.com earlier the new FiVB
inspected "Kids Volleyball" will be coming to Australia in early
2010 (January / February). This ball was made by Mikasa so that
young players of Volleyball would be happy to play volleyball rather
than fearing cheap "Hard" Volleyballs, with its EVA foam outer skin
and the bladder cotton wrapped to add softness and bounce Mikasa has
created the ultimate volleyball for kids, the FiVB inspected "Kids
Volleyball". And last but by no means least the price of this
new ball will not hurt the wallet either. Ask your local school
supplier / Sports Store for more information.
8.09.2009
It is now official ..... Mikasa is the Official Game
of the "Sydney World Masters Games" for the sports of Indoor
Volleyball (MVA200), Beach Volleyball (VLS200) and Water Polo
(W6000W - Men's, W6009W - Women's). The best competitions throughout
the world use Mikasa, and so now does the "Sydney World Masters
Games" as well.
7.09.2009
Over the years various claims have been made
regarding Volleyball Nets, "Ours is better than the world Tour and
has 5.0 mm steel cable" is one such claim. Well we at Mikasa Sports Australia we have
had enough of these wild statements, and are now gearing up to
supply Australia with Volleyball Nets that actually do meet with
FiVB regulations in both Steel and "Technora" cabled nets, these
nets will not be cheap but they are the best because they are Mikasa
Nets made in Japan and just like Mikasa Volleyballs these Mikasa
Volleyball Nets will last and last and last. Until recently people
were still saying that 3 foot drop nets were international standard,
it was only because of us that they are now starting to come clean
with what the actual international standard really is and that their
nets just don't conform to the standard. That is why we say get the
best (Mikasa) and forget about the rest.
21.06.2009
It is very surprising to us here at Mikasa Sports
Australia why some brands would see fit to try and copy (or produce
something that looks similar to) our latest 8 panel design indoor
volleyballs (and risk court action) when it has been patented
throughout the world. If you do come across a volleyball that looks
similar to Mikasa but isn't please note that it does not conform to
the rigorous standards of quality and perform that a Mikasa
Volleyball does.
18.05.2009
Completing the new "Beginner" Range of Volleyballs is the new size 4
"MiNiVOLEibOL" designed specifically for the Australian market by
Mikasa. This Mini Volleyball will be available in both schools and
retail outlets so that every aspiring player can use them. Look out
for it coming soon.
4.04.2009
For too long now there has been no Junior
developmental balls used by coaches in teaching beginners the sport
of Volleyball. Sure maybe a light ball was used once, but we are
talking about a series of developmental balls specifically designed
to go from absolute beginner to normal player. Mikasa
Sports Australia would like to put an end to this, so we have
initiated a beginners volleyball section on our website. America and
Europe have used light weight and size 4 balls as well as oversized balls as learning
aids to teach young beginners the sport of Volleyball, now it's
Australia's turn. The beginners page will be opening soon.
2.04.2009
Mikasa Sports Australia is about to release a new
section of volleyballs onto the Australia specifically for people
who are starting their volleyball careers. Keep watching for the new
"Beginners Section" on the Indoor Volleyball area which even
includes beach volleyballs.
13.12.2008

Volleyball Schools Cup) we received word that the long awaited
partner to the new MVA series of Indoor Volleyballs, the
MVA1.5 Mini Volleyball would be
available to us here at Mikasa Sports Australia, we look forward to
being able to provide this very sort after item here in Australia
early next year (Late February), even before the beach season has concluded.
27.11.2008
The MVA 300 has now been approved for use as the
"National Competitions" volleyball of the FiVB.
3.11.2008
Due very heavy demand for the Mikasa MVA 200 Volleyball they were
sold out only 3 days after the first shipment was received. It is
with great happiness that we can inform our customers that the next
shipment will arrive in Melbourne on approx. the 27th of November.
And that a further third shipment will arrive in Melbourne before
Christmas to cater for the demand. But judging by the way these new
balls are selling we urge you to get in quick with your orders
before we again "sell out".
22.10.2008

Water Polo to the Mikasa's list of sponsored competitions throughout
the world, Mikasa is truly the undisputed leader in water polo in
the world today.

As of the first delivery of the new MVA series
volleyballs, all new shipment of volleyballs into Australia will
carry the AVF logo, to show (if they didn't already know that is)
that Mikasa is the Official Game Ball of the AVF, and yes that does
include our Beach Volleyball the VLS200.
20.08.2008

With the imminent arrival of the MVA series of
Volleyballs (particularly the MVA200) into Australia, some people
are trying to buy it overseas, please note that there is NO WARRANTY
on any ball bought from outside Australia by Mikasa Sports
Australia. It will be easy to tell the Australian MVA series balls
will have the AVF logo on them any balls not having this logo are
not covered by warranty. Which means that you might have wasted your
money. Although you do not have long to wait as they will arrive in
Australia on the 22nd of September.
4.08.2008
The NV6B FiVB six ball carry bag has been deleted,
and when the BV6 series and the NV6B are now on sale. Next year we
will introduce a new carry bag worthy of the new MVA series
Volleyballs, and the ST-VS and VBR will be available as of Friday
this week. Also added today a new topic to the "FiVB Ball Approvals"
page, "Ball Care" .... which shows the recommended way to inflate a
ball, click
here to see it.
30.06.2008
The newest member of the Mikasa Volleyball range has
now been released. And will be available in Australia sometime in
late September / early October. The MVA Series consists of 4 Indoor
Volleyballs, and is the most revolutionary thing to happen to
Volleyball since the release of the first coloured international
ball during the Sydney 2000 Games (the Mikasa MVL200). To see the
whole range please click
here or on the ball.
13.06.2008
Mikasa Volleyball Nets are of to the highest of
standards (as pictured being used in the 2007 world league) and come
complete with an attachable side line marking tape and are also the
proper drop as well of one metre. But there is a common
misconception that the antenna should be placed on this tape, and it
is wrong ! Please note this picture (taken from the FiVB website)
which clearly shows that the antenna is on the outside of the tape.
28.04.2008
The new MT6 Mikasa Volleyball Kneepads are now
available, they of the highest quality material and have a long
elastic bandage as well, with plenty of protection at the sides as
well. They come in four colours ..... White, Blue, Black and Yellow.
Click
here to see them.
19.03.2008
Yesterday it was said on a leading website that
Mikasa was not used in the 1972 Munich Olympic Games. Our managing
director happens to have in his personal collection a ball which
refutes this claim. Mikasa is the choice of the Olympics.
13.03.2008
It is now official .... Mikasa is now the "Official Game Ball of the
Australian Volleyball Federation" starting right now in 2008. In
this year, an Olympic year Australian volleyball will benefit
greatly from this change to Mikasa.
9.02.2008
Coming soon a new product for Mikasa Sports Australia which will
start a revolution in Australian volleyball .... the "VBR". The VBR
is a tool used for blocking spikes during training sessions, this is
the first of several items Mikasa will be releasing this year that
will revolutionize volleyball, so keep checking this site for
further details. To see it click
here to go to the volleyball coaching page.

Australia look forward to helping canoe polo grow and flourish in
Australia.
5.02.2008
Mikasa Sports Australia as from today will no longer be supplying
"Full Grain Leather Volleyballs", mainly due to the fact that the
International governing body the FiVB have not approved any Leather
Volleyballs since 2005, both for quality and environmental reasons
as well.

What is the official drop of a volleyball net ?
This question has been asked of us quite a lot lately, the answer is
1 metre (from the top of the net, to the bottom of the net). Now the
reason why this question is being asked.... In the USA they still go
by "feet and inches" and everywhere else is "metric".
So when volleyball nets are made for the USA market they are a "3
foot" drop and everywhere else has 1 metre. But in Australia
unfortunately both types are imported, and people (including
referees) have taken it for granted that they are metric and
sometimes they are not, the easiest way to tell the difference that
we have seen is that if you are using "Asics" antenna then the drop
is 3 FOOT. If you use "Senoh" then the net is 1 metre. What
difference does it make ? 3 and 3/4 inches
more onto the bottom of the net, enough for a volleyball to hit and
stay in play !! Another way is when the bottom of a 1 metre net has
to be "lifted up" to fit a shorter antenna, which will cause the
bottom of the net to curve upwards slightly (not to mention the
extreme stress on the antenna and could cause it to brake
prematurely), and this situation does not give good game play off
the net either. Mikasa Sports Australia has the Senoh Net Antenna
(FiVB Approved and Olympic Provider) and the Mikasa VNC which is an
International Net and is 1 metre in drop and has a side marking
tapes included. Forget the rest and get the best Mikasa and Senoh
otherwise you may be wasting your money.
Available from Elson Volley.

After the world cup of cricket, the victorious
Australian Team relaxed by playing some Beach Volleyball, and what
brand of Beach Volleyball did they use ..... what else but the one
used on the Swatch FiVB World Tour.... Mikasa of course.

7.04.2007
During the labour Day long weekend in Melbourne
(Moomba) in March, Epic Beach Volleyball staged a King/Queen of the
Beach Competition, and Mikasa was there as the sponsored ball of the
event, and will also be there at Cobram tomorrow.

26.03.2007
Pictured at the Fina World Championships
recently was the Premier of Victoria Mr. Steve Bracks and our own Mr.
Neil Cocks managing director of Mikasa Sports Australia, in between
Water Polo matches.
16.2.2007
In an effort to de-mystify to you the volleyball
player about what the
FiVB markings
on a volleyball actually mean, we done up a special page on our site
for you entitled "FiVB
Ball Approval System", also included is a segment on "Leather
versus Synthetic".
